BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

Aside from the regionally based Local Initiatives Forum known as « AT2I+ », the Auvergne is in the process of creating a Materials and New Materials competency cluster with an emphasis on transport: INNOMAT – Based in Issoire, this cluster will host businesses, training organisations and laboratories from the car industry and aeronautical, cycling and nautical sectors.

In parallel, the rise of companies sub-contracted to the aeronautical industry has led the region to develop a specific business park situated next to Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne international airport.

Finally, the local economy is boosted by groups of business leaders: AVIA, in the aeronautical sector, and AUTOMAC, for the car industry.
